    Saleslogix Mobile Architect help

    Hi,

I'm trying to find some information on how to customize the Blackberry inteface with Saleslogix Mobile 5.1.  Sage doesn't seem to have any sort of developer reference guide.  My main concern is that a lot of the screens we have in our SLX implementation are not on the Blackberry, and there is a critical one called "Contracts" that the Blackberry does not have and I want to add it.

It seems like after poking around a bit, you have to write some code, but I could be wrong.

How can I add more tables and fields to the Blackberry interface?  Do I have to write a lot of code, or is there a visual place to do this?

Thanks for any help you can give!

    Hi,

I spoke with a SalesLogix tech guy and for what you are trying to do there is not a quick fix.  Due to the technical nature, I am going to direct you to a development site: www.slxdeveloper.com.  I think the members of this site will be able to help you out.

    Good luck!

    Brianna,

Thank you for your reply, I did a lot of digging yesterday and became very frustrated.  I posted my questions on slxdeveloper.com and have yet to receive a reply.  In fact ,the last 5 messages posted in the mobile forum have not yet received a reply, which leads me to believe either there are a VERY limited number of people out there with knowledge on how to do this mobile stuff, OR they are just safe-guarding their knowledge so they can sell consulting services to their clients rather then enabling clients to do the customizations themselves.

I did find a developer training manual table of contents on Sage's web site, but they don't share the manual with you.  It looks like you have to go to Scottsdale, pay $1800 and attend a 3 day class to get the manual.

I don't think this is fair.  Since Sage refuses to post documentation about this API, they should at least provide the manual to clients who need it.    We have in house developers and expertise here, I just need the information on how to do it so we can proceed.

    :(
