Emailing From the Notes/History Tab

Quick Tip of the Day, Wednesday May 14, 2008.

As a new user of SalesLogix it is impossible to remember everything that was learned in training.  One handy feature that you may have forgotten is that it is possible to email from the Notes/History tab.  I like to use this feature when I have an email saved to Notes/History with information that I would like to send to a team member or in response to a customer inquiry.  When I first started using SalesLogix I would copy and past the information into an email but using the email button saves time.  Here's how you can do this (it's super easy):

  1. Click on your Notes/History tab
  2. Highlight the activity - note, phone call, to-do, email -  you would like to email
  3. Click on the Email button located on the Notes/History toolbar
  4. Your email should pop-up with all of the information in the body.  Type in the correct subject line if incorrect and specify to whom the email is going.
  5. Click Send SLX and you're fininshed!

You can also copy a Notes/History activity into Word at the click of a button by following the instructions above, but instead of clicking the Email button choose the Word button.

Just a quick follow-up here - did you also know you can highlight more than one ?

Here's how:

In the grid - right click (using shift or ctrl to select) the items you want to email -then push the button.

SLX will then email/send to Word the items you selected - cool huh !

About Brianna Tinjum

I am happy to say I love my job! Everyday there is a new challenge and something new to learn, it keeps things interesting. I was very happy when we started Good Training because it gave me an opportunity to help people and share knowledge. Outside of the office I enjoy being active. When weather permits you may catch me riding my bike around the lakes of Minneapolis or hiking in Northern Minnesota. In the winter I get out snowboarding as much as possible and I always try to take a trip to the mountains. I made it out to Bridger Bowl in Bozeman, MT at the end of February 2008 and it was a fantastic time! Year round I participate in dance and yoga classes to mix things up. I love watching movies and you could say I may have seen too many. :) I also have a passion for reading - if I find a good book it can consume all of my free time.
