Working With Groups and The Split View

Quick Tip, Friday April 18, 2008.

It's Friday and I though I would end the week with a quick tip.  It's nothing fancy but it is something that has helped me in the past and I hope that it may help a few of you as well.

If you are working with a group of accounts or contacts it may be help full to use the split view instead of toggling back and forth between the list view and the detail view.  The split view will allow you to view your chosen account or contact in the detail view while simultaneously viewing the rest of your group in the list view on the right-hand side of the screen.  I like to use the split view when I am performing calling campaigns to my accounts.  Here is how you do it:

  1. Chose an account/contact from your group in the list view
  2. Open the account/contact in the detail view
  3. From the toolbar chose View -> Split View or use the short-cut key ctrl+F8
  4. Done!  You should now see your chosen account/contact in the detail view and your group along the side in the list view.

If you have questions or need more details let me know.  Have a great weekend!

About Brianna Tinjum

I am happy to say I love my job! Everyday there is a new challenge and something new to learn, it keeps things interesting. I was very happy when we started Good Training because it gave me an opportunity to help people and share knowledge. Outside of the office I enjoy being active. When weather permits you may catch me riding my bike around the lakes of Minneapolis or hiking in Northern Minnesota. In the winter I get out snowboarding as much as possible and I always try to take a trip to the mountains. I made it out to Bridger Bowl in Bozeman, MT at the end of February 2008 and it was a fantastic time! Year round I participate in dance and yoga classes to mix things up. I love watching movies and you could say I may have seen too many. :) I also have a passion for reading - if I find a good book it can consume all of my free time.
